74th PIHOA Executive Board Meeting – Day1: Board Retreat at the Waiānae Coast Comprehensive Health Center
74th PIHOA Executive Board Meeting – Day 2: Day two of the 74th PIHOA meeting focused on partnership engagements in selected PIHOA Regional Initiatives.The PIHOA Regional Mosquito Vector Team and the Regional NCD Response Team gave in-depth presentations. A few topics discussed include One Health, Sterile Insect Technology, Dengue Early Warning Systems, USAPI NCD Surveillance Framework, and NCD Hybrid Survey Data Collection efforts.
74th PIHOA Executive Board Meeting – Day 3: Day three of the 74th PIHOA Meeting focused on strategic visioning and partnerships for the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands and the Pacific Blue Continent! PIHOA Board members heard from several high-level public health leaders from the World Health Organization Western Pacific Region, Pacific-Community-SPC, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, CDC, CDC STLT Connection, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System.
74th PIHOA Executive Board Meeting – Day 4: Day four of the 74th PIHOA Meeting focused on partnerships in action! PIHOA Board members heard from subject matter experts on numerous projects being conducted in the USAPIs. Projects discussed include:
-Mass tuberculosis (TB) screening in the USAPIs
-USAPI TB law, and policy
-USAPI non-communicable disease crisis declaration and NCD law and policy summit planning
-Public health accreditation efforts in the USAPIs
-USAPI legislative priorities and public health infrastructure development
-Expanding joint efforts to profile USAPI workforce
-Primary HPV screening in Yap, FSM, and Guam
