April 27, 2026 (Pohnpei, FSM) – The Pohnpei State Department of Health Services, with support from the Pacific Island Health Officers AssociationSecretariat, has successfully completed the fourth Pohnpei Rapid High School Survey (2025–2026), reinforcing the value of locally led, data-driven approaches to noncommunicable disease (NCD) prevention.
Conducted in partnership with local public health staff and community stakeholders, the survey achieved strong student participation and introduced interactive health awareness booths to deepen youth engagement. Led by the Pacific Public Health Fellowship Program (PPHFP), the effort also strengthened local workforce capacity while contributing critical data to inform evidence-based policies and programs.
As part of Pohnpei’s ongoing NCD Surveillance Plan, the survey continues to support strategic public health action and improve health outcomes across Pohnpei and the broader Pacific region.
