May 7, 2026 (Tumon, Guam) – From March 23–26, 2026, thirty-one laboratory, public health, and information technology professionals from across the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands gathered in Guam for a four-day workshop to strengthen regional coordination for the USAPI Laboratory Data Exchange (LDX) initiative.
Organized by PIHOA and designed and co-facilitated by Global Scientific Solutions for Health (GSSHealth), the workshop supported the Association of USAPI Laboratories (AUL) in formally establishing its role as the Regional Technical Coordination Group for LDX implementation.
The convening marked the first time IT professionals from USAPI jurisdictions participated alongside laboratory leaders in an AUL meeting, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between laboratory and IT functions to support secure, interoperable, and timely public health data exchange across the region.
Participants also helped co-develop a 12–18 month roadmap to guide AUL’s coordination role and support continued progress toward a more connected and resilient public health data system across the Pacific.
