The Hawai’i Journal of Health & Social Welfare, in collaboration with the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health, has announced a Call for Abstracts for an upcoming special issue.
This special theme aims to highlight the unique challenges, resilience, and community impacts of disasters across the Pacific region. Researchers, practitioners, and authors are invited to submit abstracts focusing on regional disaster outcomes, local preparedness capacity, psychosocial support, and community risk reduction.

- September 1, 2026: Deadline for abstract submission
- October 1, 2026: Notifications & invitations to submit full manuscripts
- January 1, 2027: Deadline to submit full manuscripts
