November 20, 2024 (Pohnpei, FSM) – Day three of the 75th PIHOA Executive Board Meeting was a jammed packed agenda filled with impactful discussions on key health priorities across the Pacific. A major focus was workforce development, where leaders explored strategies to address the critical shortage of public health and healthcare workers in the islands. Other key topics included the burden of non-communicable diseases, advancing health security, and innovative approaches to vector management in response to climate-sensitive health challenges. Partner presentations also brought forward valuable opportunities for collaboration to strengthen regional health systems.
