December 5, 2024 (Honolulu, HI)Last week in Auckland, New Zealand, PIHOA proudly participated in the launch of the Sustainability and Resilience in Pacific Island Health Systems Report. This report examines the unique challenges faced by health systems across Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs) and provides actionable pathways to strengthen these systems. The report focuses on critical areas, including improving population health, enhancing healthcare workforce capacity, and addressing gaps in health system financing and governance. These efforts aim to build resilient, sustainable health systems tailored to the unique needs of PICTs. We are especially proud that PIHOA Executive Director, Emi Chutaro, contributed her expertise to this comprehensive report, further underscoring our organization’s commitment to advancing health equity and sustainability in the Pacific region.
