Monday, February 7, 2022 (Pago Pago, American Samoa) – On January 22, 2022, the American Samoa Department of Health wrapped up its third round of the Lymphatic Filariasis Mass Drug Administration. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the team reached close to 17,000 participants in 13 weeks. The Lymphatic Filariasis elimination program will continue with an independent coverage survey soon and plans to conduct surveillance with an impact assessment to assess the prevalence level of the microfilariae in the community.
